Wines from Rheinhessen

Rheinhessen is well known for top Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Riesling. In Germany's biggest wine region you find many different grape varieties, including Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Especially in recent years, Rheinhessen vintners received plenty of national and international awards for their Riesling, Silvaner and red wiens. Thanks to a bigger size of vineyards and less steep slopes, Rheinhessen wines tend to be cheaper than Mosel and Rheingau wines. From the 6.000 vintners in Rheinhessen, we have chosen three top vintners for our wine selection: the vineyards Ernst Bretz, Gerharz-Hochthurn and Weinzimmer (in the menu on the left you find more information about all three vintners).

Here you find more information about wines from Rheinhessen.

The vineyard of Gerharz-Hochthurn is based in Gau-Algesheim, close to the Rhein and the city of Mainz (see map below). The vineyard Ernst Bretz is based in Bechtolsheim, in the centre of the Pfalz. The vineyard Weinzimmer is located in Eimsheim, in the north of Rheinhessen.
