Vineyard Robert König (VDP)

great Pinot Noirs for great value

The Rheingau vineyard of Robert König is one of the first choices for German Pinot Noirs. Using the same techniques and profiting from a similar terroir, their wines can easily compete with Burgundy wines, while being sold at a very different price tag.

The grapes for König wines are hand harvested. They are carefully selected in the vineyard, to ensure that only the ripe grapes are used for the wines. In the cellar too, a lot of care is taken to ensure that only top wines are produced. For the premium wines, Barrique casks are used. The 19ha of vineyards include prestigious sites in the Einzellage Assmannshäuser Höllenberg and the Assmannshäuser Frankenthal.

Since the vinery has been founded in 1704, the König family constantly improved the quality of their wines. Like many of the best German vineries, Robert König is a member of the VDP, which has established very strict quality criteria for their wines. A stringent reduction of yields, special care taken in the vineyard and strict rules for the treatment of the wines in the cellar result to outstanding wines.

The vineyard of Robert König is located in Assmannshausen in the Rheingau
